This random quote script is based on earlier versions and is the product of all of the great suggestions I have received. Included in this script are a number of options including: 1. Random Quotes being pulled from a flat file database. 2. Ability to randomly pull from multiple flat file databases. 3. Ability to set a variable which will control how often a new quote is displayed - Every time the page is loaded, every minute, every hour, once a week, etc. This is done by setting a cookie.

The easiest way to make a site interesting is to make something that changes every time they come to the page. Random quotes are great because your visitors will find them interesting. They may even refresh the page a few times to see what other quotes you have. The great part about Ready Random Quotator is that you don`t have to call in in a php page (although you can). You can call it via JavaScript in a HTML page. All quotes are stored in a simple text file, and displays both the quote as well as the author. Here is yet another Random Quote Generator written in PHP. This script allows you to pull the quotes from a flat file (text file). The flat file makes maintenance a lot easier. If you want to add/remove/update quotes, you only have to open the quotes file. You do not have to manipulate the script. I further improved it by putting the HTML output into a function. This allows you to add your HTML to a script other than the one that does the work of picking the quote. Once the quote has been picked by the random generator, it is pushed into the function which then outputs the HTML.

This code enables you to display a random quote from a list you define, all you need is a a single php file and your webpage.

This is a script that I wrote to display the quotes that surfaced on billboards across the country. These billboards contained quotes from God and the source of the billboards is still a mystery.
